Vida Guerra was born on March 19, 1979 in Havana, Cuba at the age of five she found herself on a boat fleeing Castro’s regime.
An uncle of Vida’s father in New Jersey owned a bodega. He called Vida’s father to come to northern New Jersey to work there. Vida moved from school to school until as she says things came to a head in public school, Vida Guerra wanted to go there because she had a lot of freedom and no one was watching so she was being a little bad in her third year of high school. Her Mom and Dad decided to return me to St. Mary’s. Vida's parents were always strict on her and when she was younger. Vida thought they were the worst because they restricted a lot of things,
College did not agree with Vida. However before taking the step that would launch her career she took the road most traveled. When vida was young she always singing and performing in dance school. Vida's parents did not see that as a career so she took an eight-month course at Cippone Institute where she learned computers and became a computer Tech. Afterwards she also worked as a loan officer.
In April 2005,Vida Guerra's camera phone was allegedly hacked. Dozens of photos, including nude pictures, were widely disseminated on the Internet. Guerra said the nude images were of another woman, and that they had been mixed with genuine, non-nude camera-phone images of her to create the false appearance that she was the naked woman pictured. However, the head of her record label maintained that the nude photos were of Guerra and that she had deliberately leaked them as a publicity stunt. Vida Guerra was dropped by the label over this incident.
Guerra was voted Number 26 in "F.H.M's Top 100 Sexiest Females" of 2005 and has twice been named the winner of the magazine's "Best Butt Award". She has produced her own swimsuit calendars (and accompanying "behind the scenes" DVDs) and a 2006 DVD titled Vida Guerra: Exposed.
The July 2006 issue of Playboy featured the first formal nude photos of Guerra. Part of her motivation for posing for the magazine, she said, was the camera phone incident; she wanted people to see what she really looked like naked.
The first song from Vida Guerra's debut album, You Got Me, was leaked to the Internet on November 2, 2006.
In a July 2008 interview on The Jace Hall Show, she spoke about her show Livin' the Low Life, stating that "I didn't like it [low rider cars] at first, I mean, they were cool, but now that I did the first season I'm actually gonna get one.
