An old man was busy in the garden, digging a hole in the ground. Tired, he would often stop to wipe his brow and catch his breath.
The man was trying to plant a mango tree.
His neighbours called out to him.
“Why are you working so hard to plant this mango tree? What an entire waste of effort! It will be years before you get any mangoes and reap the fruits of your hard work.”
The old man replied.
“You’re right. The truth is, I may not be alive to see this mango tree blossom, I might not even be able to taste the mangoes from this tree, but you see, my grandchildren are very fond of mangoes. Let me tell you a secret, I am planting this tree today so that at least they can enjoy the fruits someday!”
With a little effort, a little work done today, we can reap the benefits tomorrow, as every journey towards change begins with a single step. This week, let’s look at how we can do little things to make a change and….
